To help you understand what this change means to you, our patients, we've provided the following Frequently Asked Questions.
Why is HeathTeam changing?
We are establishing Michigan State University Health Care to focus on health and caring. The new practice, also known as MSU Health Care, will be a separate, nonprofit, tax-exempt entity with its own governing body and management structure. It will be formed with the mission to improve the health of all the communities we serve and the commitment to provide care that is safe, compassionate and focused on patients and their families.
How is MSU Health Care different from HealthTeam?
It will be a separate, nonprofit, tax-exempt entity with its own governing body and management structure. As a separate structure, it will be able to form joint ventures with a broader set of other healthcare partners to foster innovation in health.
What’s the relationship between the university and MSU Health Care?
The university is the parent organization of MSU Health Care.
Will I still be able to see my same doctor(s)?
Yes, absolutely.
Will I notice any differences when I see my doctor?
Initially, you won’t notice any differences except the new name. Over time, your experience with us should improve as we provide even better health and wellness services and partner with entities we previously could not.
Who was consulted on the new name?
Our commitment was to get broad input. We met with providers, staff, patients and members of the community. We conducted focus groups and sent a survey to all HealthTeam providers and staff.
Who can I contact with questions?
